The Appointment Process (For Elders & Deacons)

Step #1: Nomination
For a 30 day period, members of CBC are encouraged to prayerfully and confidentially (please do not communicate your intentions) consider male
members for nomination to the role of elder or deacon. A minimum of two nomination forms must be received from two different family units from among the membership. Additionally, family members may not nominate someone from their own immediate family. A thank you letter will be sent out to every individual who submitted a nomination form. Leadership will remain devoted to prayer for the church and potential new leaders.

Step #2: Selection & Invitation
1st Leadership Meeting of the Month – Leadership will review nomination forms and pray specifically for the
nominees.
2nd Leadership Meeting of the Month – Leadership will evaluate nominees and make decisions regarding who should be invited to participate further in the process. Those nominees affirmed for continuation will be contacted, provided the appropriate leadership position description and asked to pray about participating in the process. Leadership continues to pray for God’s leading, guiding and direction. After 30 days, nominees are asked to respond.
