The Appointment Process (For Elders & Deacons)

Nomination: (March) Any member of the church may nominate a male member of the church for the role of Elder or Deacon by filling out the appropriate board nomination form and turning it  in to the elders.


Selection: (April) Nominated members are evaluated by the elders based upon the qualifications specified in 1 Tim. 3:1-7  and Tit. 1:5-9.


Prayer: (May) Leadership team prays for God’s confirmation.


Invitation: (June) Elders will invite those identified to consider going through training


Evaluation: (July – December) Training & shadowing months – leadership will begin formal training of candidates.


Recommendation:  (January) The elders will recommend those men found to be qualified to the membership for public examination.


Examination:  Any member of the church may bring legitimate concerns to the attention of the elders.  The elders will then investigate these concerns to determine the validity and address them as Shepherds.  Once these concerns have been adequately  addressed those individuals deemed qualified as a result of this process will be brought before the membership for appointment.


Appointment:   (February) Those men deemed qualified, after the proper examination process has taken place, will be brought before the congregation to be officially  appointed through the laying on of hands and prayer.  This appointment will be done by the elders and/or members of the congregation.
